About this Speaker
Ryosuke Imai joined the Ministry of Environment in 2007. He built his career working on climate change and energy policies, and resource circulation policies. He took his current post in August 2020. In the Ministry of Environment, as well as working to promote green finance such as green bonds, he is in charge of promoting impact finance and coordinating for the Basic Guidelines for Climate Transition Finance, a collaborative initiative with the relevant government ministries and agencies. He promotes the involvement of financial industries to a wide range of sustainability issues by engaging in the development of various ESG commitments in environmental fields such as the circular economy, biodiversity, climate adaptation.
